self portrait challenge: soft and quiet glam

glam. glam. there are so many sides to me- but none of them really embodies the word "glam". what i find glamorous is probably not what you find glamorous. i find my big huge bright and brilliant yellow felted flower by supermaggie very glamorous, but i do not wear it out. it hangs with the rest of my jewelry on the wall in my bathroom. i love looking at it, just hanging there. it makes me feel pretty and glam, just knowing that it's there. waiting for that perfect occasion to be worn out. glam to me is shutting the bathroom door, and savoring the soft and quiet of the bathroom. peeing without someone screaming and pounding on the door to be let in. looking at my jewelies, taking a minute for myself.

that's glam.

for other self portrait peeps, go here.

I love your post ~ I feel the same way. My escape is a long hot bath, in the quiet.

That just made me choke on my soda:) I can relate to that on soooo many levels. I don't EVER get a shower by myself... always there is at least one small child in there with me... usually two. Finally the oldest believes me when I tell him he is too old to get in the shower with me. Cant wait till the other two believe me as well ;)

Yes! Glam is that moment, that very seldom moment, when a mama can pee all alone behind a closed door. Even when they're older, take it from this mama of a 16-year-old and a 10-year-old, they always seem to "need" you most when your pants are down!

I also find being covered in glitter and smudged with glue after a craft projects with the kids to be very glam. Then for added glam, if I stand in front of the opened oven door -- it's almost as good as sparkling on a stage beneath a spotlight (teehee!!).

Much love,
Tab

I think your shot here is beautiful! The way your hair peeks out in points beyond the flower, your expression.

And a Super Maggie flower?! I've wanted one for so long!! Me jealous.

Thanks for the love over at my joint, too. So nice to have you visit :)

We share a thread of similar thoughts on "glam". You might have to wear that flower out now--how beautiful it is/this picture is!

hey pretty,
this entry reminded me just how much i enjoy sitting on your pot. there is something very relaxing and inspiring about gazing at your wall of necklaces and accessories. i also like looking at the b/w photography while washing my hands with your scrumptious soap!
