hello peeps,
just checking in to say hi. trying to be productive today and get out to the library. joey just started crying downstairs so my time is limited. al, we would love to see you this week but we're headed off to see friends in NY. so sorry to miss you during your vacation! all the car problems seem to be somewhat fixed, but we'll see. looking forward to crafts with tracy and trip to emily's...need a break from the normal routine.

i'm jumping full force back into my doula training...so if any of you knows of an expecting mama due after april 1-2 (when i go to my doula conference)...and they would like free doula-in-training services (i have to attend three births as part of my certification), please direct them to me! i'd be honored to attend their birth and be with them during their experience.

valentine love fest

trying to stay positive, so i'm posting some pics of our valentine love fest the other night. grace and i made johnny a love tree with hanging hearts, and i put gray to bed at 5:30p and made a nice dinner of fat, juicy steaks and we had wine and john read me a poem he wrote me and we got to talk like real adults. it was wonderful. i'm happy that it's the weekend again so hopefully we can recreate some of that wonderfulness.

grace wore big girl undies in her bed last night...still waiting for her to get up. i'm sure it's a complete train wreck.

this is the exact opposite of how i'm feeling today. grace is driving me crazy. potty training is driving me crazy. washing shit off of every inch of my house is driving me crazy. i need the weekend, and i need a siesta. i can't wait for my girls day and johnny to take me away and give me good food and drinkies to soothe my crazy mama soul.

does anyone know why my blog is broken? why are my posts posting so low? or is it only me who can see it like this?

you're a real piece of work. a genuine POW. every day you surprise me with the witty and fantastic things you say. you can be sweet as candy and as mean as the mean girls back at the pleasant valley school. these past two days have been interesting due to your nasty, nasty mood. i've showered you with love, taken you to a party at the library, helped you make endless valentines for your friends, hosted playdates, and taken you to the beach for pizza with papa today, and your bad mood prevails. all your friends are potty trained, but you refuse to "take a ride on the potty train". you insist that you will not get on the train when it comes to pick you up. despite all these "gray moments", i still think you are the most loving and incredible kid i've ever met, and that's saying something. i know some pretty incredible kids. so gray, when you're ready to ride the train, let me know. when you're over your bad mood, let me know. i'll be here waiting for you, waiting for hugs and cuddles and kisses as always.

as a new mama, i'm oftentimes tired tired tired. i can usually put on a happy face and get through the day, but my eyes, the circles underneath, and my red-vein-ridden eyelids tell it all. this series of photos pretty much sums up how i feel at the end of a long day with the two little ones.

i try to keep the naked shots to a minimum, but i had to post this pic of little pummers double-bum-crack. see how it splits into two bum cracks at the top? i think it may be the sweetest thing ever. and his multiple bum cheeks and cottage cheese. the poor guy...add a botched circumcision to the mix and you've got a lifetime of making-fun material.
