the wine song

i'm busted. really busted. after a morning spent in a little seaside town doing jury duty (or not-so-much-jury-duty, more like being the only freak in the room full of white potential jury people- what's up with all the white people?), i came home to my sickly kiddos and my saintlike mother-in-law. after getting everyone settled and situated, grace and i were doing a craft at the table (actually drawing poop families...yes, families of poops, with labels and all, which is another story for another day) and she's all "mama, can i sing you a song?" and i'm all like "yes! i love songs. sing away baby!" and no word of a lie, this is what comes out of my sweet baby's mouth, word for word:

the wine song:

"the grown-ups love wine
the grown-ups drink wine

i don't drink wine because i'm a-three years old

but grown-ups really love wine."

holy AA! i guess we really do love wine in these parts. :)
i swear, my girl never ceases to amaze me with her wit, at a-three stinkin' years old.

thanks for all the enlightening and soul-nourishing conversation about the family thing. i'm going to read back over the comments and a-think about it all some more. i loved how some of you had such differing opinions about the whole topic, yet i found myself nodding my head in agreement with each one. thank you for guiding me and teaching me, and holding my hand on my journey.

that is totally freakin' hilarious. it reminds me of ralph covert's coffee song. if your kids are ralph fans you know what i mean.

i love it when they surprise you like that. never know what's coming.

C was just saying last night that "Gracie is the absolute BEST little kid i know!" ...and we haven't even spent that much time with her. it just goes to show how awesome she is.

happy a-drinkin'!

So I'm also anxiously awaiting the answer to yesterdays question, but from YOU!

LOVE THIS! but maybe that's because i'm a fellow wino ;)

my kidlet like to clink glasses and when one would normally say 'cheers', she says 'wine'. go figure!

First, I so LOVE the family of poops! Tell Grace I need a book-writing poop for my art collection.

Grace and her songs are just magically delicious :)

that is really funny. reminds me of something my oldest (3 y.o.) said this morning:
him: "dad hit mama"
me: "when? what are you talking about?"
him: "remember, he hit you on the booty."
me: "oh, we were just playing"
him: "yeah, but it hurt, didn't it? but just a little because then you laughed. it's okay, you can tell me."
the things they see AND remember now...
all good things though.

Nina,
That is too freakin cute....it's funny the things kids pick up on at that age....she is very observant and smart....can't wait to see what kind of song Joey will belt out...I'm sure it will have something to do with Gray...LOL
Take care,
Love Vinnie
