today is one of those crazy days. my mind is spinning and my head is pounding. this weekend was full and satisfying, filled with work (yes, work!) and the kids and pizza and a date and family and orchards.
my car broke today but my dad saved the day by fixing the problem with a washer and a piece of masking tape. no, i'm not kidding you. just one of the benefits of living a mile away from mcguyver/dad magician man.
also, i've been pondering my career lately, mainly because i've been hearting work so much lately. i get high off of my massages lately (that sounds kind of dirty, but i mean it in the most purest way, i swear). i loved working six hours this week (gasp! six hours- doesn't sound like much, i know. but for me this is huge). waiting with baited breath for my new business cards, with a lotus flower and all.
shout out to c&j who just purchased their first home!
also thinking seriously about egg donation. seriously as in i'm considering shooting myself with hormones with a NEEDLE and probably will start the 26 (not kidding) page application if my kidlets ever go down for a nap. that is, of course, i get called into work at the last moment. i feel like the massage therapist superhero that has to swoop in at the blink of an eye to soothe aching muscles with this whole on-call thing. anywho, has anyone out there ever donated eggs, and if so, is it scary? i've never had surgery before and from what i'm reading, i'll have to actually go under and it's painful, etc. i'm really motivated to help another mama out though, and i want to be a surrogate but it's not the right time for me right.this.minute. because i want to finish having my own kids first. so this is a bit of a compromise to tide me over. any opinions welcome here...
finally, this picture. this picture kills me. look at pum's little fingers reaching out. grace's little leg stance. these kids give me the worst black circles under my eyes but the best damn life i could have ever hoped for.
obviously i'm all over the place today. still love me, please.

I always wanted to donate eggs -- I will support you in whatever way possible and please keep me updated on the steps, I'm totally interested.
I'm so glad you love your career. It is so important to be happy with what you do for a living.
Gray and Pum are so grown up, I can't get over it.
Love ya,
Steph
Being a Mama is busy, eh? Glad to hear your enjoying your work :)
I admire you for wanting to donate your eggs, I don't know if I would be able to handle it emotionally, but what an amazing gift to give to another woman. If I come across any info I'll pass it on.
I tried, but it didn't work. Wifey donated, and yes, it was considered surgery and it hurt. But she's very happy she did it. Ask her. I also have a couple friends from college who did it and had great experiences.
Not to be rude, but you might be aging out of the preferred egg donor age range. Generally, they want 22 year old women. For surrogacy, they prefer women who have their own kids and are in their late 20s-early 30s.
Which agency are you looking at?
I heart you! We think alike when it comes to so many things. I love my job--(it is a pure honor to write books and visit with kids!!). When it comes to my kids, I feel the way you do. I love being a mom! They are my greatest accomplishments.
Until the next chapter....
Much love,
Tabatha :)
I love this photo and the way that Grace looks cool as a cucumber in that stance. Donating eggs scares me for the hormonal reasons... I'd say if your'e done having your own kids, then go for it... but take care of your body!
lovin' you,
emily
Oh my, you are so loved every place
you choose and...
you will make some other mommy so very happy....what a blessing you are :)

How could we NOT love you beautiful girl??
Yes, this photo of your kiddies is brilliant ~ I love G's combo of tie-dye with polka dots, perfecto!
I haven't donated eggs although I've been on the other side as an acupuncturist, helping someone get pregnant with donor eggs....it's a beautiful gift you can give Nina, and just shows how big your heart is. Keep us posted on how that goes, you're incredible girl and I'm just sorry (for myself) that we don't live closer and can convene and conspire on a daily/weekly basis ~ big sigh.
You are a crazy woman trying to save the world and I love you for it!
Hey Nina,
It's Piper, from Clark - remember me? Heather's friend? Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how very moved I am that you are considering donating eggs. It means a great deal to me because (gulp) I am infertile. (yikes, that was scary - that's my first time "coming out" as an infertile woman. If I do have kids some day, I will need an egg or I will have to adopt. I have always heard that it is hard to find egg donors, so to learn that you are considering it fills me with hope that maybe more and more women will do it. So, thank you for even pondering the idea. BTW, I love your blog!! It's fun to see what you're up to. You have a beautiful family and I'm glad that you are so happy with your life!
