(feet hanging off the edge of a recent hayride)it's early. really early. i've been up since 5am, wanting to get up and turn on the coffee pot. i finally pulled myself out of bed, nursed joey, and then brewed some life-saving java. now i'm sitting here taking a moment to say...good morning.
i'm excited about the day today. we're headed to connecticut to visit my not-so-near and dear mama al. our three year olds are like to dirty-hippie-peas-in-a-pod. i'm looking forward to sitting back and watching them play and explore in her sprawling backyard, nursing some more, eating, and catching up on our girl-yet-mama talk. watching her pregnant glow. you know me and pregnant mamas! we've also got some plans for apple picking, so there will be more dew soaked feeties and crisp apple hunting. it will certainly be worth the drive, that's for sure.
and then back to MA tonight for lots of eating and talking and bad tv. having jess around to inspire my girlishness and creativity and organizing of my past (for some reason she inspires to to put my old journals in order, and put my photos into albums, and organize my old letters by person- ) has been such a blessing. seeing everyone eat food i've created for them is one of the most satisfying things on the planet.
grace just walked into my room, fresh from sleep- hair all frizzed up around her tiny face- and she greets me with "i just wanted to spend some love time with you. wanna snuggle in your bed?" grace says the most perfect (and sometimes random) things when she gets up and walks into our room (our rooms are all connected upstairs). it's one of the things i live for- to see what she has to offer me on these early and hopeful mornings.
*she also just said "happy myles day, mummi. wanna call myles?" don't worry mama al, we won't call you at 6:30am, i promise!

what is it about food that=love? i feel the same way nourishing the bellies of my boys. so cute for gray to want "love time" in the am. i'm lucky to get a drippy peck on the cheek (or nose or eye) when my little one is on the run. he wakes right up...no sleepy ramdomness, just loud wke up calls like this morning's "i peed MAMA!" have fun today, sweetest.
have a great day. your girl sounds like areal sweetie.
i need a friend who inspires organizing :D

Hope you had an awesome day in CT today!
I hope that you enjoyed your fall day. I just keep taking in all the scenery on every walk that Seth and I take. Fall is so beautiful!
hi! lovelovelove your picture of dangling feet. i have a wonderful dangling feet picture from a parasailing adventure. i'll have to dig it out.
maybe we can plan a get together soon? i have friday and monday off (hallelujah). will you be floating around those days? let me know!
i remember those awful awkward letters! i am a little embarrassed that you still have those bits of my sixteen year old self but i'm also very happy that they are still kickign around.
i have all your replies to them too! they are in an envelope in the back of an old scrap book. we should reshare!
much love to you and your clan!
love,
me
in a fancy pants restaurant i used to cook at in new orleans, we painted the words "food of love" above the door from the kitchen to the dining room. nourishing loved ones is so satisfying...parallels with nursing, eh?
love morning kidlets! so fuzzy and sweet and ready for the new day.
Congratufreakinlations!
you can't post 'congratufreakinlations' anonymously, you ass- because then i won't know if it's boo or piashire! you guys need a comment etiquette class.
Sorry about that brain fart. Ava says, 'I want to love on you' and there is nothing better. Not. 1. Thing.
