(i heart this booty shakin' picture that gray snapped of me- a couple of weeks ago we worked on "favorite things" journals, and i gave her my camera for an hour or so to let her snap pictures of some of her favorite things. so it would only be natural that she would take a picture of my shakin' my booty in her face. duh.)
thank god that i'm lucky enough to be a stay at home mama, because if i wasn't i'd certainly be fired with a capital F thanks to these past couple of weeks. grace is home from school today, again. she said to me this morning "mum, remember how i had a bubble in the back of my throat yesterday? well this morning...it's bricks!" and along with the stink eye, and joey's major congestion, we're home again today. i was able to do $212 worth of damage at the grocery store last night after the kids were in bed, so i've got thanksgiving covered.
nothing's gonna keep me down, yo!
when we were stuck in the house yesterday, there was a lull in the conversation. and gray says to me "so mumma, let's talk about something. i'd like to talk about PERIODS. what exactly are periods? are they when people take off their nipples and then grow new nipples? i'd just really like to have a talk about periods."
now's as good of a time as ever, i guess.

Thank you sooooooooooooo much for the great laughs this morning. Man that Grace is too old her her age. She is cracking me up! Happy Thanksgiving and we love and miss you all!
LMAO! While reading -- I had a vision of a drawer filled with different sized nipples, a set for every occasion. Kids are too funny. I'm wondering if she'll like the idea of growing a set of new nipples verses the whole "period" thing. I can't tell you enough how much I ADORE, LOVE, CHERISH and MISS you and your peeps!!!
Kiss Jo-Jo and Grace for me. Tell them that tonight while they sleep, they can meet me in their dreams at the bookstore and I'll read them the greatest stories!
Much love,
Tab :)
Gracie is just tooooo funny!!! I think I would die laughing at her. Sorry to hear the kiddies are sick again. I hope they feel better soon!!
Have a very very happy thanksgiving!!!
Luv ya,
Steph
OMG! LMAO! And any other appropriate acronyms!
Everything from your bum to the graceisms... hilarious!
Good luck with the period talk. Wouldn't it be nice if periods were as simple as swapping nips.
Nina, check out this story about eye injury and breast milk:
http://www.mothering.com/articles/new_baby/breastfeeding/mothers-milk-healing.html
2nd-to-last paragraph mentions pinkeye.
Best wishes!
oops, that should be
breastfeeding/mothers-milk
in there in the middle of the URL.
oh, love that comments are on!
i like to shake my booty in my girl's face as well in our dance-a-thons.
your words today could be taken from my heart - so much to be thankful for staying home.
please come to NYC to play. xo
honestly. i hope you are keeping a sincere and copious account of everything this child says because she will have a set of novels waiting for her by puberty. where does she get this golden sh** when you say so very little??!!
are you letting her watch late night dramas on hbo?
i love when you open comments, too, btw. it's like seeing an open sign in my very favorite shop that's always closed when i pass by..
XOXOXOXOXOXOXO huggins,
p
i agree with pixie, luvin the comment-ability. if gray were any more precocious she'd be writing her disertation on earlobies.
i heart you and your nipplie, period-talking little gal!
